Overseas (ex Ireland) Pilgrimages/Tours

All pilgrims and cultural tourists with Carpe Diem Tours must take out travel insurance to cover their travel abroad. You may decide to take out this insurance yourself with your medical provider, e.g. VHI, or elsewhere. You can take out travel insurance for the duration of the single tour or, if you travel abroad more often, it is possible to get travel insurance for a year.

Premier Travel offer a range of cover for your trip including Single, Annual or Backpacker Travel Insurance cover. Whether travelling once a year or more our insurance will provide cover for Cancellation, Medical Expenses, Baggage, Travel Delay, Personal Accident, Missed Departure and Personal Liability. Travel Insurance arranged through Premier Travel now covers Cancellation as a result of a positive diagnosis of Covid-19 and they also now cover Medical Expenses abroad as a result of Covid-19. All other claims relating to Covid-19 or Government Restrictions are excluded.

IMPORTANT!
  1. People with serious underlying medical conditions or aged 80 or over must declare this to their travel insurer and inform Carpe Diem Tours of same.
  2. For all overseas pilgrimages and tours, Carpe Diem Tours will require details of your travel insurance prior to departure.

Local (in Ireland) Pilgrimages/Tours

As a general rule, it is not necessary to take out personal travel insurance for a local (within Ireland) tour. All the agents engaged by Carpe Diem Tours in the course of the local tour (eg accommodation and transport providers, cultural and heritage centres, restaurants etc) will have adequate insurance cover in place themselves. Carpe Diem Tours is not responsible for any insurance claim that arises from a visit to a location or agency that is not directly engaged by or part of the local tour arranged by Carpe Diem Tours.
